Turboprops are among the aircraft Air Charter Aruba arranges for trips to and from Aruba. The types we arrange seat 4 to 14 passengers, with published ranges from 840 to 1,806 nautical miles. Which one suits your trip depends on the passenger count, the baggage, the distance and the airports at both ends.
Typical Aircraft
The types we arrange in this category are Beechcraft Denali, Beechcraft King Air 100, Beechcraft King Air 250, Beechcraft King Air 260, Beechcraft King Air 360, Beechcraft King Air C90GTx, Cessna Grand Caravan 208B, Daher TBM 900, King Air 200, King Air 350, King Air 90, Piaggio Avanti II, Pilatus PC-12, Socata TBM 700 and Socata TBM 850.
When a Turboprop Fits an Aruba Trip
Turboprops suit the shorter legs of a trip. Most of the types we arrange can fly between Aruba and San Juan or South Florida, depending on the load and the winds, and farther north a turboprop trip usually means one or more fuel stops. They cost less per hour than a jet, and on a short leg the time difference is small.
Cabin size, baggage space and range vary across these 15 types, so send us the details and we will narrow the list down for you.
The runway a particular aircraft needs is calculated by the operator for that day’s conditions, and your advisor confirms it with the operator before anything is booked.
Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
Aruba-Specific Patterns We Plan Around
Most Aruba trips start in the United States, and the island is busiest from Christmas through Easter, with Carnival season in January and February, so those dates book first. Queen Beatrix International in Oranjestad is the only airport, and it is closed to private flights between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m., so we plan arrival and departure times inside its hours. Every trip is international: the flight clears Aruban customs and immigration when it arrives, every passenger completes Aruba’s online ED card before traveling, and landing permission is arranged once the trip is booked. From South Florida the island is about a thousand nautical miles away and from the Northeast roughly 1,600 to 1,800, which decides whether a smaller jet needs a fuel stop. Aruba sits on the southern edge of the hurricane belt, but hurricane season runs from June 1st to November 30th, and a storm farther north can affect the flight down.
